The Israeli Response
What Israel is pursuing is its legitimate right of self-defense, a stance accepted by most western governments.
The goal is to defeat the terror organization that perpetrated October 7th so it can never do it again.
Hamas, a genocidal jihadi group, is openly vowing in English to carry out multiple October 7th events until they kill every man, woman, and child in the country.
The Israeli response is proportional to the threat posed by Hamas, which openly threatens to annihilate the Jewish people and the state of Israel.
When Hamas embeds itself within the civilian population, using them as human shields, it recklessly endangers them. The international community should direct outrage at Hamas inside Gaza, not at the army that has been doing everything it can – more than any army in the history of warfare – to get civilians out of harm's way.
Conclusions
Israel defends itself against the genocidal terrorist organization Hamas unapologetically, but it never acts against the civilians of Gaza on purpose nor seeks revenge for their government's actions.
