Civilian deaths are always an unfortunate cost of war

There were 2 million German citizens who were killed in Nazi Germany in World War 2

This fact does not make the war with the Nazis unjust

There are many conflicts between the IDF and the Palestinian Jihad (West Bank) and Hamas (Gaza) terrorist groups

Some operational decisions to neutralize terrorists come at the cost of civilian lives

Unlike the terrorists, ranging from car-jamming terrorists in Jerusalem to the planned attack on October 7th, Israel does not deliberately attack innocent civilians

The terrorists are solely responsible for the loss of civilian lives when they intentionally hide among them, unwilling to confront the IDF directly.

They are also politically responsible for the Palestinians through elections - since they are chosen to allocate resources of the citizens in a way that benefits them.

Israel's enemies attempt to increase the number of civilian deaths to a maximum, so killing these terrorists is likely saving Palestinian lives

They make great efforts to hide among civilians in kindergartens, schools and hospitals.

They have stated publicly that the Palestinian lives are not their responsibility

They have shot at civilians trying to leave areas that Israel notified will be bombed

Israel is attempting to decrease the number of innocent civilian deaths to a minimum

Using ‘knocks on the roof’ - calling civilians and dropping flyers requesting them to evacuate prior to bombardment

Comes at a cost of allowing terrorists to escape, thus hurting the war effort

Using ”pinpoint targeting”: prioritizing the use of precise drone and jet bombardments to imprecise artillery

Statistically proclaiming the lowest civilian-to-terrorist death in the world

1:1 in 2003

1:28 in late 2005

1:30 in 2012

2:1 in 2023 - extremely positive given the fact that Hamas is intentionally hiding in crowds of civilians in hospitals and schools

As a comparison, the UN estimates a ratio of 3:1 in afghanistan and 4:1 in Iraq. despite these numbers, israel is put under scrutiny like no other country in history

If Israel puts down its weapons tomorrow, there’ll be a second Holocaust.

If the terror groups put down their weapons tomorrow, there’ll be a prosperous Palestinian state

Every step towards the annihilation of the terror groups is a step towards a better future for both Israel and Palestine

Conclusions

Israel's war, like all wars, sometimes comes at a cost - but the cost of inaction against Hamas and other terror groups in the region is much greater. The only way to create long-lasting peace and prosperity in the region is to wage a war on those keen on dying in the name of religious power struggles.
